Waddington Rehab Center Philosophy

All of the staff at Waddington Rehab Center (WRC) shares the core belief that addiction is a treatable disease, not choices and recovery is a process that heals mind, body, and spirit. The more a person abuses, the more difficult it becomes to live without those substances, and he or she falls into a cycle that can ruin every aspect of life. Addressing this core, underlying issue is a process that allows the roots of the problems. WRC provides treatment through medical, psychological, spiritual and holistic means in order to treat the whole person.

At our rehab center, we depart from institutional principle and have created a "therapeutic community" made up of loving and caring home where our clients disconnect from their addictions and reconnect to a higher presence. Our entire structure - from our beautiful facility to our delicious food and our loving staffs support a caring environment where participants are safe to share with other clients and staff members.

Areas of Specialization

  • Individualized Treatment
Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.

  • Aftercare Support
Addiction recovery does not end with discharge after completing a rehab program. Facilities that offer aftercare planning and/or support work with patients to ensure sustainable recovery by helping to plan and make arrangements for transitional or sober living, help with housing, vocational counseling, etc.

ABOUT WADDINGTON REHAB CENTER

Waddington Rehab Center (WRC) is a 20-bed drug and alcohol facility based in a residential neighborhood. This new complex, which opened in May 2016, provides 12-Step and evidence-based treatment through its short- and long-term inpatient programs in a non-hospital setting. Suboxone treatment is offered at off-site locations prior to patients entering WRC’s inpatient program.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Seeing addiction as a “treatable disease,” WRC addresses the whole person’s medical, psychological, spiritual, and holistic needs. Whether receiving short-term (one to four weeks) or long-term (four to 14 weeks) treatment, clients cultivate a deeper sense of patience and perseverance through practicing self-discipline, mindfulness, and other practical strategies.

In addition to attending 12-Step, Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings, residents partake in psychoeducational classes and have access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT), when and where complete abstinence is extremely difficult. Spiritual counseling also is available at the facility’s on-site interfaith chapel.

Family involvement is considered an inseparable component to a client’s successful long-term recovery. As such, WRC holds two-day educational seminars for family members to learn about the recovery process. The facility also schedules family visitation hours on Sundays. Toward the completion of the program, residents develop relapse prevention plans and have ongoing 24-hour access to staff.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

WRC’s multidisciplinary treatment consists of a physician, nurse practitioner, psychiatrist, physical therapist, dietician, and other spiritual and holistic practitioners.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

The non-hospital setting houses up to 19 clients in either private or shared rooms that feature flat screen TVs with free cable. Meals are prepared in an on-site commercial kitchen. Clients eat together in a large dining room.

When not in therapy, clients have access to a number of amenities including a gym/exercise room, entertainment room with a pool table, and small library. Residents also can make long distance phone calls.
