Williamson Comprehensive Treatment Center Philosophy

Williamson Treatment Center specializes in providing medically supervised detox services to individuals dependent on heroin and other opiate-based drugs. All too often, chemically dependent individuals want to get clean but fail to do so because they fear the pain of withdrawal. Williamson offers Methadone and Suboxone maintenance to help clients safely and comfortably detox from opiate-based drugs and take the first steps toward a life free from addiction.

Areas of Specialization

  • Process Abuse Treatment
Not all addictions involve mood-altering chemicals. The term “process addiction” describes the unhealthy use of behaviors (including eating, gambling, sexual activity, shopping, internet use, etc.) that has spiraled out of control and into the realm of addiction.

  • Eating Disorder Treatment
Many mental health professionals view eating disorders (including anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder, along with other dysfunctional eating patterns) as a food addiction – in that food is used in ways other than as fuel or a source of pleasure. Some, but not all, addiction treatment programs include eating disorder treatment as part of the service menu. Also, an eating disorder may be a dual-diagnosis or a co-occurring disorder with drug or alcohol addiction.

ABOUT WILLIAMSON TREATMENT CENTER LLC

Located in Williamson, W.V., just over the state line from Kentucky, Williamson Treatment Center is an outpatient treatment facility that provides treatment to adults battling opioid dependency. The clinic offers comprehensive care, including a selection of counseling and education options, to support clients’ medication-assisted treatment (MAT). In 2017, 5,406 individuals were receiving MAT in West Virginia, making up about 1.3 percent of individuals receiving MAT at a national level.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The treatment process at Williamson Treatment Center begins with an assessment by an admissions specialist. Services are provided to clients that have been dependent on heroin or prescription painkillers for at least one year and in withdrawal within the last 24 hours. Detox transfer clients are an exception. The assessment process lasts two to four hour and includes a physical exam.

Clients receive medication management via Naltrexone, buprenorphine, or methadone. Williamson Treatment Center is one of just nine facilities (8.8 percent of all facilities in the state) to offer MAT with methadone, and one of 28 facilities (27.5 percent of all facilities in the state) to offer MAT with buprenorphine.

Additionally, clients participate in individual and group counseling. Family support is encouraged throughout the treatment process, and family education sessions are available to help clients strengthen relationships. Seeking Safety programs and other specialized group programs are available to support clients’ recovery.
