Hillside House is WRA’s residential program for expectant women and mothers in treatment with their young children (up to age 10), which has an additional focus of increasing parenting skills and providing a safe, stable and healing environment for children while their mothers participate in treatment.

Through counseling sessions, clinicians address issues that may contribute to addictive behavior, especially among young woman, such as trauma, abuse, and low self-esteem.
Residents also attend educational workshops to help promote sustained recovery, such as emotional regulation, forming healthy relationships, developing community support, and relapse prevention techniques. Clients may also be introduced to the principles and practices of 12-Step. Residents with co-occurring disorders may also participate in issue-specific counseling sessions, participate in psychiatric evaluations, and receive ongoing medication management.
As a facility designed to treat pregnant woman and new mothers, Perinatal Residential Services provides a range of services designed to ensure the health of the mother and child. Residents attend classes on parenting, pregnancy, postpartum depression, and other topics relevant to the residents. During sessions, the facility may provide childcare services.
Upon discharge, clinicians may help collaborate with the residents to create a comprehensive discharge plan. The plan could involve referrals to sober, supportive housing, medical care, outpatient-based programs, vocational training, and continuing education. Women's Recovery Association operates a range of outpatient-based programs and services in the San Mateo area.
Perinatal Residential Services' clinical team includes physicians, nurses, license professional counselors, case managers, social workers, behavioral health technicians, and behavioral health technicians.
