Treatment for mental health disorders is provided through short-term inpatient care, and the center also offers community crisis and prevention outreach services. The publicly-owned, acute medical facility coordinates with Erie County Medical Center, as the larger hospital provides services not available at WCCHS, including inpatient detox.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Wyoming County Community Health System’s Behavioral Health Center provides emergency psychiatric assessments at the hospital and various home-, school-, and work-based crisis support in the county.

Inpatient treatment typically prioritizes stabilization, while also emphasizing holistic recovery. In support of this, programming is designed to help clients strengthen coping skills and self-confidence. Pharmacological intervention may also be utilized to promote stabilization.

The center’s main substance use disorder treatment service, as represented on the facility’s website, is an Alcohol Jail Program that involves support group meetings and counseling.

Clean, organized, and allows for privacy. Not much to do besides going to group and single therapies. I went in for my behavioral problems and just spent a week in there. It was fine for that amount of time, but I do not think I would have liked it if I was there much longer than that.
