Wyoming Recovery, in Casper, Wyo., provides residential, outpatient, and Intensive Outpatient Programming for those dealing with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Specialized treatment for professionals is offered. Detoxification is available on-site and may involve medication-assisted treatment in the form of Suboxone if needed.

Treatment at Wyoming Recovery begins with an assessment. Clients in need of detoxification will have 24-hour care and medication-assisted treatment as needed.

Residential treatment incorporates 12-Step programming, daily Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, and individual counseling. Educational groups focus on anger management, spirituality, cognitive behavioral therapy, and pain management. Residents begin their day with a "goals group."

Partial day and evening programs are offered to accommodate clients' schedules. Outpatient programming meets three nights per week for three hours. The Intensive Outpatient Program provides nine hours of treatment each week.

Clients transition from one level of treatment to the next based on progress. The facility’s website specifies that there isn’t a fixed length of stay.

Following residential or Intensive Outpatient treatment, clients can participate in weekly continuing care sessions to prevent relapsing.

A specialized professional program for medical professionals and other executives is offered.

A medical director leads the multidisciplinary staff comprised of certified addictions specialists, a clinical director, support technicians, family counselor, a registered nurse, and an acupuncturist.

The 15-bed facility is located in Wyoming’s second largest city, Casper, in the scenic heart of the Rocky Mountains. The open campus is within walking distance of Wyoming Medical Center. According to the facility’s website, meals are provided “through cooperation with Wyoming Medical Center and the 12/24 Club… and complemented by trips to local restaurants.”

The doctors and therapists are great. But the director and one tech are in competent. The staff member can not handle a person yelling at a phone. She says she fears for her life. This is a dual diagnosis center and she is to a afraid to face make clients. and the continued care is based off iop is not part of tech staff and they refuse treatment. Poor management but caring doctors and therapists. Not a good choice until management change and tech removed from a nod she can't handle.

A strength of facility was the recognized doctor name behind facility. However, staff members new to recovery. My son (the patient) told me of poor conduct by the staff. I emailed the doctor in charge of the facility and got no response. After a few years and two or three more rehabs my son died from a heroin overdose.
