ABOUT WYOMING RECOVERY

Located in the community of Casper, Wyoming Recovery offers a full continuum of care for individuals struggling with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. The facility offers residential care, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and continuing care. The facility also offers on-site medical detoxification services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment at Wyoming Recovery begins with an assessment. Clients in need of detoxification receive 24-hour care and medication-assisted treatment (MAT), such as Suboxone, as needed to minimize the discomfort of withdrawal.

Residential treatment incorporates 12-step programming in combination with individual and group counseling. Educational groups focus on anger management, spirituality, cognitive behavioral therapy, and pain management. The facility also offers a specialized treatment track for professionals, including medical professionals and executives.

Partial day and evening programs are offered to accommodate clients' schedules. While PHP follows similar programming as residential treatment, clients reside off-site. IOP provides nine hours of treatment each week over three sessions. Clients may transition from one level of treatment to the next based on progress. The facility’s website specifies that there is not a fixed length of stay.

In addition, the facility offers a specialized, outpatient-based Suboxone Treatment Program for individuals struggling with opioid dependency. Following residential or outpatient care, clients can participate in weekly continuing care sessions to help prevent relapse.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

A medical director leads the multidisciplinary staff comprised of certified addictions specialists, a clinical director, support technicians, family counselor, a registered nurse, and an acupuncturist. All substance abuse treatment centers in Wyoming have continuing education requirements for staff.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

The 15-bed facility is located in Wyoming’s second largest city, Casper, in the heart of the scenic Rocky Mountains. The open campus is within walking distance of Wyoming Medical Center. According to the facility’s website, meals are provided “through cooperation with Wyoming Medical Center and the 12/24 Club… and complemented by trips to local restaurants.”

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The four alumni to provide feedback to Rehabs.com at the time of this writing offered differing opinions. Offering four out of five stars for the effectiveness of lead counselors and a perfect five-star rating for the level of staff support, J.C. wrote: “Basic small rehab, focused on recovery, not yoga or holistic junk. Focus on 12 steps,” which was a a point of praise of alum C.K. "Amazing Staff. Nobody is perfect, but I can say that the majority of staff put as much into my recovery as I put into it myself," C.K. wrote.

On the other hand, former client Cam felt the doctors and therapists were "caring," but was still displeased with the poor management. Cam also commented that the director and tech were incompetent, though an official response from the facility invited the reviewer to discuss their concerns with the company.

On Wyoming Recovery’s Facebook page, which the facility can manage, the center received an average 4.6 out of five stars based on 55 reviews.[1] “The tech's are amazing always there when you need something or just to talk,” wrote Marilyn, one of the 46 five-star reviewers. “I would highly recommend Wyoming Recovery to anyone looking for a better way of living.”

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

The sole loved one providing feedback to Rehabs.com reported low- to moderate ratings of two or three stars for 15 evaluated metrics, including holistic offerings, counseling options, and affordability. J.Y., whose son attended treatment, wrote that staff were “new to recovery” and reported poor staff conduct. She strongly disagreed when polled on whether or not she would recommend this facility to others.

The single anonymous staff member responding to a Rehabs.com poll to date gave positive reviews for staff members and treatment for co-occurring disorders. “We are a small facility, our clients are treated like family,” this employee wrote. “We really do care about our clients and adapt to their needs.”

As of this writing, two employees on Indeed gave the facility three out of five stars.[2] “My most enjoyable part of my job was interacting with my clients,” wrote a certified nursing assistant.

My husband started seeing a doctor(s) here...they switched him from a non-controlled medication to a controlled medication abruptly even though he had been on the non-controlled for many years and my husband was very sick because of it and missed work at his new job. He was functioning well and there was no negative impact on his life until they started altering his medications. Although these concerns were expressed to the doctors it didn't seem to matter. The lady at the front desk is extremely unpleasant to deal with. I'm in the process of finding him a new doctor even if it means we have to travel out of state to find one it's better than continuing care here.

Someone close to me went here. Don’t send your husband here. Men and women should not be together when they are that vulnerable.

Amazing Staff. Nobody is perfect, but I can say that the majority of staff put as much into my recovery as I put into it myself. Just amazing dedication to helping addicts recover and have happy, healthy, productive lives. A+

The doctors and therapists are great. But the director and one tech are in competent. The staff member can not handle a person yelling at a phone. She says she fears for her life. This is a dual diagnosis center and she is to a afraid to face make clients. and the continued care is based off iop is not part of tech staff and they refuse treatment. Poor management but caring doctors and therapists. Not a good choice until management change and tech removed from a nod she can't handle.

A strength of facility was the recognized doctor name behind facility. However, staff members new to recovery. My son (the patient) told me of poor conduct by the staff. I emailed the doctor in charge of the facility and got no response. After a few years and two or three more rehabs my son died from a heroin overdose.
