William Nevadomski

Co-Founder Harmony Recovery Center

After a long battle with addiction to opiates and prescription drugs during his teenage years and early 20s, William went through state-funded treatment programs. After two episodes of treatment, he started living a clean life in February 2014, helped by the NA community and his desire and willingness to follow a program and change his life. William began working in the treatment field as a house manager for a sober living home. This allowed him to start to fulfill what he sees as his destiny, helping others in any way he could through their struggles that he went through himself and overcame. His journey continued, and through his compassion, ethical standards and care for the needy, he evolved in the field and earned the opportunity to grow through a position in the admissions department at White Sands Treatment Center. He maintained this position for over a year. Another opportunity came his way when Delphi Health Group offered him a position in the admissions department, which he took and evolved in for over a year, after which he joined the team at Harmony Recovery Center's sister-facility Recovery In Tune in Florida. After working in the admissions department for Recovery In Tune for over a year, William transitioned to the Harmony Recovery Group team as Business Development Director and Co-Founded Harmony Recovery Center. William has become a vital part of the program, using his personal and professional experience and knowledge to help and guide those in the program and educate the community about the program.

Unfortunately, one barrier to access to drug or alcohol treatment is the cost of treatment. Private and costly rehab programs are not the only way to get help; quality treatment can be available through free or government rehab clinics. As noted by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, those entering government treatment for legal reasons have as successful, or more successful, outcomes as those entering treatment on their own, in private or public institutions. Some funding sources for treatment can include:

  • Private insurance. If you have private insurance, rehab coverage is often included. Call your insurance carrier for updated information.
  • Government insurance. You may qualify for Medicare or state-sponsored insurance, such as Medicaid, which often has rehab and mental health coverage.
  • Discounts/sliding scale. Find out in advance if your treatment can be discounted if you pay in cash or on a credit card. If facilities do not have to spend time and resources on insurance claims, they may discount their services by up to 25 percent.
  • Free rehab clinics. These facilities often have waiting lists, and offer very basic services.

If you are unsure of where to start in your search for drug or alcohol treatment in Alexandria, contact us today at our toll-free number.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

Treatment times range, depending on your individual needs and underlying conditions. Issues that often extend treatment times include:

  • Underlying mental health disorders that must be addressed to prevent relapse
  • Physical problems stemming from addiction, such as hepatitis, kidney disease or HIV
  • Reducing the risk of relapse through alternative therapies, including job retraining
  • Gaps in treatment that requires key pieces of treatment to be reintroduced
