Pine Manor Inc - Chemical Dependency Services

I don't discredit the facility entirely, I just disagree with some views and the way some things are presented. Their employees see m to care for those being treated and many have overcome addictions as well. I do feel, however, that the patients in the faculty should be helped to feel in control of their lives. Less like powerless victims of their chosen substances, and more like wise beings in control of their bodies and their urges/addictions. I know it's not an easy thing to overcome by any means, but I also knowthat my father came out of the facility with a handful of excuses for the things he'd done, the reasons for his addictions, and its result it had on our family and other loved ones. He learned that it was not his fault that he turned to drugs and alcohol to begin with, that he kept going back to them orr that he just couldn't quit. He believed that the only reason he became who he was, was because of the childhood he had. The very things he described as leading to his addictions are the very same things he afflicted onto me, without the added events of a parent or relative abusing (sexually, mentally, and verbally) him. These factors were brought up in a family treatment session, where the counselor had him apologize to me, but explain that his actions were not his fault, but his addiction's fault. But I begged the counselor to answer that if the events of his childhood made him powerless to addiction, and I had the same events and more unfold, an addictive personality and access to the same drugs and alcohol my father was addicted to and had offered me, then how was I not as powerless to them when I was not only weak, but they had been forced upon me? I know it's a long ramble, but in short, the facility was very quick to help my father release him from his guilt and tell him "relapse is going to happen, and that's ok, because it isn't your fault. You're addiction controls you and there is little you can do about it but believe in god."

Research Anchorage Recovery Facilities
Anchorage is a city known for its beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife. If you live in Anchorage, you might pride yourself on your ability to be self-reliant and able to handle your own problems without assistance, and this might keep you from enrolling in an Anchorage drug rehab program, even if you need help. While these feelings are certainly understandable, don’t let them keep you from accessing the help you’ll need.

Benefits of Entering a Rehabilitation Clinic
It was once thought that addictions were caused by a lack of basic willpower, and that people who had addictions just needed to learn to “toughen up,” and their addictions would miraculously disappear. Now, experts know that addictions have their roots in all sorts of common problems impacting people today. For example, a study conducted in Anchorage found that people who had severe substance abuse problems also had a lack of clear career goals, and perceived multiple barriers that stood in the way of employment. Feeling helpless and aimless like this might lead you to drug use, especially if you think there is no way out of the feelings you’re experiencing.

A comprehensive treatment program can help. Here, you’ll receive help in order to get sober, and then you’ll receive yet more help in order to allow you to rebuild your life. This help might include education, job training and communications skills building, as well as addiction counseling.

Will It Help Me?

If you can answer “yes” to questions like this, addiction treatment programs are likely to provide you with an immense amount of help:

  • Have you tried to stop on your own, and found that you couldn’t?
  • Are you unable to get through the day without using?
  • Are you worried about how much you use?
  • Have you been arrested or lost your job because of your use?

Locate Rehab Programs in Anchorage

If you’ve been arrested for a drug addiction, your counselor or caseworker might have given you a list of programs to try. If not, you might wonder how to find the right kind of program. We can help. The terms that addiction programs use can be confusing, and it can be hard to determine which programs in Anchorage are even accepting patients.

We keep a thorough database, and our experts are adept at explaining what each program does, and how it will work. Just call us to find out more.
