Through his many opportunities working in health care, Kevin has developed the understanding that addiction is a disease that needs to be treated with time, care, and understanding. As a member of long-term recovery himself, Kevin is able to promote the values of honesty and integrity in his daily practice.

An Overview of Avondale Treatment Programs
Avondale, Arizona was recognized in 2011 as one of the Top Ten Digital Cities among American communities of its size. The award was based on the city’s efficient and innovative use of technology. Nonetheless, the most common occupation among men in Avondale is construction, while women work primarily in health care services.

While rates of addiction are higher among construction workers and other blue collar jobs than in most professions (and it’s not clear if this is an effect of the job, or if the job attracts people with such predispositions), the fact is that anyone, given the right circumstances, can wind up having addiction issues – whether it is due to substance abuse or something else.Technology Addiction?

Addiction to Internet pornography has received a fair amount of media attention. However, the fact is that the Internet has only served to better enable an addiction – one to pornography – that has been around for centuries. There is, however, the serious issue of technology addiction.

It is especially prevalent among young people who spend hours on social media websites, smart phones, playing video games and surfing the Internet to the point that it interferes with the rest of their lives. Such children and teens, when told to leave the computer, are even known to react in the same way as alcoholics who are denied a drink.

Tips on Entering a Treatment Clinic

When you have reached the point at which you realize your drug or alcohol issue is unmanageable without professional help, you’ll find yourself with decisions to make.

Treatment options include:
  • Private facilities
  • Public treatment centers
  • Residential (inpatient) treatment
  • Outpatient recovery program counseling
  • One-on-one counseling
  • Group therapy

Depending on the severity of your addiction, you may be required to undergo detoxification before starting a treatment program.
