Discovery Point Retreat

They Accomadated every need for My Son from Day he made his decision to seek help. He flew to Texas and was picked up at the airport by staff. I was allowed to see him the very next day, visitation were just about over but they let us have a visit anyways. Rooms are spacious and may not be a facility as someone stated but the House is Large, spacious, clean, and just has that home, secure, quiet, inviting feel. The are is perfect quiet and serene. Therapy and couseling on site my son loved everything about the way the had control of everything that was in his best interest. The staff, The Chef, The People i always knew how his progress was coming along and even included in therapy sessions. My son understand about addiction, the triggers, the control and the reason and maintains his sobriety, contact with others that were also in treatment with him, He considers all of them as family. Everyone there made him feel so comfortable, important and loved. At check out it took us all day for him to get everything together because he was truly going to miss Everything and Everyone, ( The Food) The outings, The Therapy, The couseling . The Owners, Management, The Staff I commend on The excellent job they are doing The are all Truly a Blessing. Strengths: Their knowledge in all areas of helping everyone. Knowing exactly what each persons individual needs are from The addiction ,the emotional, therapeutic, dietary. Weakness: Sober Living facility. I think my son was probably sent to the worst one. Was told he had to have a job within 2 weeks or going to be kicked out while another individual was there before him, still there and still unemployed. My son working 3rd shift going to sleep at 6 a.m. was woken up anyways for meditation at 7 even though he just worked at 12 hour shifts ( inconsiderate) people were eating his groceries. And managers of the house had dogs and dog hair everywhere and were offended that he mention about the dogs being all over furniture. Cardinal House of Dalls/Garland definitely Not recommended and was really in awe that Discovery Point Retreat would even be affiliated with a place like that. That would be the only negative on them with me.

Rose Rock Recovery Center

Strengths: Focus on source of problems and not the negative coping mechanisms we were abusing. Specifically focused on woman's issues. Weaknesses: No sugar or pop.It is a long term 3-6 month program where you and your fellow clients will work together to help and keep each other accountable. The facilitators and counselors are genuine honest woman who are in recovery themselves and truly care about helping.

Facts about Bettendorf Treatment Centers
Drugs and alcohol are gradually becoming acceptable norms in American culture, provided the person using does so in moderation. Drug rehab programs are experienced in helping people who started out using in “moderation” and ended up becoming addicted to a drug. For those addicted in Bettendorf, rehab can make the difference between serious health, relationship and finance issues and a life of balance and hope.

Find out the facts about addiction and available treatment options so you’ll have the information needed to make an informed decision.

The Importance of Getting All Co-Occurring Issues Treated

Co-occurring conditions involve a substance abuse problem combined with a physical or psychological condition, such as diabetes or depression. While getting help for a drug addiction is absolutely necessary, other untreated conditions can actually work against any progress made within a drug treatment program. It’s not uncommon for someone to try to self-medicate in an attempt to relieve symptoms from an untreated condition. So someone with a hyperactivity disorder can easily turn to alcohol or marijuana in order to calm down.

Getting treatment for any and all conditions a person may have ensures the best chance for a successful recovery process.

Negative Effects of Drug Addiction

With or without a co-occurring condition, someone battling drug or alcohol addiction will most likely see negative effects of ongoing use in one or more areas of their life. According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, areas most affected by addiction include:

  • A person’s physical health
  • Personal relationships
  • Family relationships
  • Destructive behavior changes
  • Financial management
  • Work or school productivity
