Inpatient vs Outpatient

Residential Inpatient vs Outpatient Rehabilitation Program

Teen drug abuse is often hard to accept, and in many ways difficult to treat. Often teens need more guidance than they receive at home, and although an outpatient rehabilitation program is a step in the right direction, they respond better to being away from a harmful environment with temptations.

Residential rehabilitation places the attention entirely on a teen’s recovery, and keeps them from focusing about school, friends, family or their social lives. That doesn’t mean that outpatient treatment isn’t a viable option for teen rehabilitation. To have the most success with outpatient rehabilitation, both the patient and their support system need to be committed to recovery.
