Discovery Point Retreat

They Accomadated every need for My Son from Day he made his decision to seek help. He flew to Texas and was picked up at the airport by staff. I was allowed to see him the very next day, visitation were just about over but they let us have a visit anyways. Rooms are spacious and may not be a facility as someone stated but the House is Large, spacious, clean, and just has that home, secure, quiet, inviting feel. The are is perfect quiet and serene. Therapy and couseling on site my son loved everything about the way the had control of everything that was in his best interest. The staff, The Chef, The People i always knew how his progress was coming along and even included in therapy sessions. My son understand about addiction, the triggers, the control and the reason and maintains his sobriety, contact with others that were also in treatment with him, He considers all of them as family. Everyone there made him feel so comfortable, important and loved. At check out it took us all day for him to get everything together because he was truly going to miss Everything and Everyone, ( The Food) The outings, The Therapy, The couseling . The Owners, Management, The Staff I commend on The excellent job they are doing The are all Truly a Blessing. Strengths: Their knowledge in all areas of helping everyone. Knowing exactly what each persons individual needs are from The addiction ,the emotional, therapeutic, dietary. Weakness: Sober Living facility. I think my son was probably sent to the worst one. Was told he had to have a job within 2 weeks or going to be kicked out while another individual was there before him, still there and still unemployed. My son working 3rd shift going to sleep at 6 a.m. was woken up anyways for meditation at 7 even though he just worked at 12 hour shifts ( inconsiderate) people were eating his groceries. And managers of the house had dogs and dog hair everywhere and were offended that he mention about the dogs being all over furniture. Cardinal House of Dalls/Garland definitely Not recommended and was really in awe that Discovery Point Retreat would even be affiliated with a place like that. That would be the only negative on them with me.

An Overview of Carmel Rehab Facilities
Carmel, Indiana is among the richest communities in the Midwest, according to the US Census in 2010. It is also one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, with new residential buildings and offices popping up in the Meridian Corridor at a fast pace.

Unfortunately, while the economy is booming and there is substantial community growth, there is suffering among the affluent teens who are abusing drugs. According to the California Healthy Kids Survey, this is a common trend nationally; as teens from more affluent families have the resources to purchase illicit substances they hope will alleviate their boredom.

Carmel offers a number of luxury rehab facilities that can help teens eliminate any dissatisfaction they feel with their lives and overcome the physical aspects of drug addiction.

Teen Drug Use Statistics

As these statistics from the National Institute of Health show, teen drug abuse is a problem in every community:

  • 21 percent of high school seniors have used marijuana in the last year
  • 3 percent of 8th graders admit that they’ve tried Ecstasy
  • 8 percent of 12th graders have used Vicodin in the past year
  • 6 percent of 12th graders have used either Adderall or over-the-counter cold medicines to get high

Instances of abuse are simply elevated in the more affluent communities because a drug habit is more affordable when money isn’t a factor.

Questions to Answer Before Enrolling in Rehab

If you are a parent exploring treatment options for your addicted child, ensure that you find a program that offers the following:

  • Privacy: Discretion is essential in treatment facilities that cater to influential members of the Carmel community. The treatment plan will be challenging enough for your child without any additional outside influences interfering with the process. Ask about the rehab facility’s confidentiality policy prior to enrollment.
  • Education: If your child is entering treatment while school is in session, ensure that the facility offers an educational program that keeps them up to date on all coursework.
  • Luxury amenities: An affluent child is more likely to succeed in an environment that is similar to theirs at home. The treatment process already pushes them far enough out of their comfort zone. Find out which amenities are offered at each rehab you consider.
