Clinical Program Manager/Primary Therapist Recovery Institute of Ohio

My name is Jessica Kitchin and I am currently the Clinical Program Manager/Primary Therapist at Recovery Institute of Ohio. In August of 2018, I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Addiction Counseling. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Obtaining these degrees and progressing in my life was always part of my plan as a child; however, when I started drinking regularly by the age of 12 and using drugs at the age of 16, I didn’t think my life was going to end up the way it has. Even though I attended college for education, I found myself drinking and heavily using drugs, until I dropped out with one semester left. My addiction completely controlled my life.

Browsing Cheyenne Rehabilitation Centers
Marijuana is the most commonly used drug in Wyoming, including in the Cheyenne area. However, what is frightening is that the number of drug-induced deaths in the state is higher than the national average, at 13 deaths per 1,000 people. Although this may not be shocking to some because Wyoming is the state with the lowest population, nobody should die from a drug overdose. If you admit that you have a drug problem, know that there is help available to you in Cheyenne. You should not feel ashamed about wanting to live a clean and sober life.
Questions to Answer Before Signing Up for a Rehab
One of the most important questions you should ask is about the rehab facility’s treatment methods. Ask about the different types of therapies they use and how they will work in your situation. A specific type of treatment may not work for everyone, so the facility should use a variety of methods. They should also have a variety of counselors on hand. The facility should match you up with a counselor who understands you well and can work well with your personality type.Health Effects of Marijuana

Marijuana is used by many people to help them deal with severe health problems. Although marijuana is safer than some drugs, it can negatively affect one’s health in several ways. Habitual use of marijuana can cause many health problems of its own, including the following:

  • Increased risk of heart attack
  • Respiratory problems
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Schizophrenia
