Safe Harbor Treatment Centers for Women

The chef at Capella makes extremely healthy meals. My body felt healthy when I left. Lack of alternatives to 12 step programs was a downfall. I got sober there so I'm thrilled. I was dissatisfied with the lack of continuity in holding residents accountable for their behaviors. Many not doing their chores (which were never checked), residents sleeping together, staff that were under qualified to handle these situations. I'd suggest requiring a Masters in Social Services, even for support staff. They oftentimes had no idea what they were doing and were unprofessional like bringing us vape juice or gossiping about other clients.

Clinical Program Manager/Primary Therapist Recovery Institute of Ohio

My name is Jessica Kitchin and I am currently the Clinical Program Manager/Primary Therapist at Recovery Institute of Ohio. In August of 2018, I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Addiction Counseling. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Obtaining these degrees and progressing in my life was always part of my plan as a child; however, when I started drinking regularly by the age of 12 and using drugs at the age of 16, I didn’t think my life was going to end up the way it has. Even though I attended college for education, I found myself drinking and heavily using drugs, until I dropped out with one semester left. My addiction completely controlled my life.

Of that number, 86 percent were enrolled in an outpatient treatment program, according to the California Substance Abuse and Mental Health Issues At-A-Glance published by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

A Guide to Entering a Drug Addiction Rehab Program

For many, people there are a number of different issues that can become obstacles to treatment. For example:

  • Finances: Drug detox is expensive, but even if you’ve spent all your cash on drugs, you can get financing assistance at many drug addiction treatment programs in Costa Mesa.
  • Work schedules: Many who are barely holding onto their jobs don’t want to use up their last bit of currency by taking leave to go to treatment, but bosses who already realize that you have a problem with addiction will usually support you in getting better so that you can be more productive at work.
  • Family needs: Kids, spouses, extended family – you may feel that everyone needs you to be present. However, everyone who needs you will benefit from your improved health after rehab.
  • Fear: Whether it’s a fear of withdrawal symptoms, a fear of the unknown at treatment, or a fear of trying to live your life without drugs and alcohol, don’t forget that in treatment you get the tools you need to deal with everything that comes your way.
  • Health issues: Medical disorders and co-occurring mental health issues can and should be treated alongside addiction issues.
