Sojourn House

Rigid schedule . Too far from home to be able to visit regularly on the scheduled visit days once a week. Son was court ordered to go to Sojourn House for treatment. We were pleased with the staff there. Things were explained to us well.

Gerry Brown

Founder and President U-Turn For Christ - Gold Hill

Pastor Gerry Brown comes from a family of fifteen brothers and sisters, and is therefore family oriented. After many years of struggling with the sin of addiction, finding himself in divorce court with a Judge warning him that he was about to ruin his life, he agreed to do whatever his lovely wife Peggy wanted for him to get his family back. Peggy’s one requirement was for Gerry to attend church with her. Gerry agreed, not realizing God would get a hold of his heart and change his life forever. That was over twenty years ago. Today he is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Romoland and also the founder and President of U-Turn For Christ. His unique shoot-from-the-hip style of teaching gets right to the heart of the matter, and the meat of the Word. His powerfully unique style of delivering God’s Word will both challenge and encourage you to new levels of maturity in your walk with Jesus, as we draw from God’s design for living, and discover new insights to God’s “Truth and Love in Action”.

Investigate Edmond Recovery Centers
Edmond, Oklahoma is an award-winning city that’s earned recognition for its sense of community, economic opportunities and cultural diversity. But like many other small American cities, Edmond has been affected by the rise in teenage marijuana use, and drug rehab specialists have seen a change in teens’ attitudes about cannabis.

In 2012, the Edmond Sun reported that several teens were arrested for the possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia within 1,000 feet of an Edmond high school.

What to Ask Before Entering Rehab Treatment

Substance abuse in teenagers involves not just the teen, but the whole family. When you’re looking for addiction treatment programs for your child, look for a facility that offers counseling and education for parents and siblings as well as your teen. Family-based treatment addresses domestic conflicts, parental substance abuse and negative interpersonal dynamics that can contribute to a teenager’s drug or alcohol abuse.

Do Teens Consider Marijuana Use ‘Normal’?

According to the Office of National Drug Control Policy, nationwide surveys show that acceptance of marijuana use as “normal” is on the rise among teens:

  • About 71 percent of teens who responded said that they have friends who use cannabis on a regular basis.
  • The number of teens who believe that their peers don’t smoke marijuana has dropped by 30 percent.
  • The number of teens who had used marijuana heavily in the past month increased by 80 percent between 2008 and 2011.
  • The number of teens who had used marijuana in the past year increased by 26 percent.

Getting Recovery Services in Edmond

It’s always hard to discover that your teenager has a problem with drug or alcohol abuse. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be difficult to get help. Family-oriented recovery services are available on an outpatient basis in and near Edmond. For teens who need more intensive monitoring and rehabilitation, residential treatment can be arranged.

You can begin your search by calling our toll-free number for guidance and support.
