Clinical Director Midwest Recovery Centers

Kevin has been involved in the field of drug and alcohol counseling for over 10 years. Growing up in Georgia, addiction was prevalent in his own household. After his own battle with drugs and alcohol as a young man, he found a natural passion to help others find a way to break away from the misery of drugs and alcohol dependence. This passion prompted Kevin to begin a career studying and understanding the various techniques in which to approach and treat patients with drug dependence. Through his many opportunities working in health care, Kevin has developed the understanding that addiction is a disease that needs to be treated with time, care, and understanding. As a member of long-term recovery himself, Kevin is able to promote the values of honesty and integrity in his daily practice.

Find Inglewood Treatment Clinics
Private drug rehab in Inglewood can provide you with some of the best and most effective treatment options available for addiction and drug abuse – no matter what your drug of choice is.

In 2005, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) reported that the top drugs of choice among those who sought treatment in California were:
  • Methamphetamine: 47 percent
  • Alcohol: 43 percent
  • Marijuana: 36 percent
  • Heroin: 19 percent
  • Cocaine: 20 percent

Are any of the drugs above a problem for you or someone you care about? What about more than one? More and more often, people struggle with the abuse of multiple substances – which increases their risk of overdose exponentially.

If this is an issue for you, don’t wait to find the right treatment center in Inglewood, the one that has the resources to help you leave drugs and alcohol behind forever. Call now to get started.

A Guide to Going to a Treatment Facility

The numbers above add up to more than 100 percent because many people named more than one substance of abuse as their primary issue – something that is becoming more and more common in California and across the country. When you mix substances, you do more than just add the effects of each together. In many cases, the combination can have a synergistic effect, heightening the effects of both and adding a few new ones as well. For example, when alcohol and cocaine are combined, the two substances form an entirely new substance in the body: cocaethylene. This substance is highly toxic and can mean deadly liver and heart issues.

If you are living with a dependence upon multiple illicit substances, what should you look for in a treatment program? Your rehab should offer:

  • Medical detox: If you have withdrawal symptoms, you will need to have the supervision of medical professionals who can help you.
  • Individualized treatment: Especially when you are dealing with a dependence upon multiple drugs, the issues you need to deal with will be a unique combination. You will need the freedom to create a program that works for you.
  • Input into your care: Your success is predicated upon your ability to honestly share how you are progressing in treatment. Your voice should be heard in the development of your treatment plan.
  • Aftercare support: Your “make it or break it” time comes after rehab. Your program should continue to support you after you leave.
