Ashland & McMillen Home

It's free and available to woman only. Non medical detox. I've gone to many rehabs and detoxes, this one was the only one focused on 12 steps and not on massages, yoga, etc. It was 30 day free program so being in my disease and homeless at the time, this was ideal for me. They allow u to leave premises at 21 days for job search and offer affordable sober living to those who graduate 30 days and get a job

Find Rehab for Your Loved One’s Co-Occurring Conditions

Programs like the California Prescription Drug Monitoring Program help to prevent “pill mills” from contributing to prescription drug addictions in the state. It’s not uncommon for someone to use illegal drugs on top of a pain medication as a way to help relieve pain symptoms. In cases like these, a co-occurring pain condition may be aggravating your loved one’s addictive behaviors. Should they decide to get drug treatment, it’s important that the program they enter treats both the pain condition and the addiction problem.

Drug Abuse Effects on Women

As the effects of drugs on the body correspond with each person’s overall disposition, drugs affect women differently due to the physical makeup of the female body.

According to Psychiatric Times, the effects of drugs on women differ in the following ways:
  • A woman’s body is more vulnerable to the effects of long-term alcohol or drug use.
  • Women become addicted at faster rates than men do.
  • Women experience more severe withdrawal effects than men.
  • Women are more likely to develop medical or psychological disorders as a result of ongoing drug use.
