Serenna brings 10 years of treatment programming and leadership experience to her position as Clinical Director. She combines her training in DBT, relapse prevention, and motivational interviewing skills in helping patients and their families become independent, active and empowered to lead healthy and product lives in recovery. Serenna received her Master’s Degree in Psychology and holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. She is a CADC-III-level Drug and Alcohol Counselor, has completed training and certification from the International Association of Trauma Professionals. She is also certified as an ACCBO educator and has helped many achieve their goals in becoming substance abuse counselors. Recently, Serenna has obtained her EMDR therapy certification to provide a new level of care to women. We are thrilled to have Serenna leading the Awakenings by the Sea team.

Samantha Pauley, LPC, LMFT, MAC, graduated from Lewis and Clark College with a Masters in Counseling Psychology, emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. A Master Addiction Counselor, Samantha began her career working with adolescents and their families struggling with addiction. She has been with Hazelden since mid-2010, initially as a primary counselor and was the supervisor of Extended Care at Hazelden in Springbrook for four years prior to transitioning to her current role as Manager of Outpatient Services and Day Treatment. Her special interests include family dynamics and system interventions, body image and disordered eating, mindfulness and neurologic changes as they relate to grief, loss, addiction, trauma and recovery.

Pastor Gerry Brown comes from a family of fifteen brothers and sisters, and is therefore family oriented. After many years of struggling with the sin of addiction, finding himself in divorce court with a Judge warning him that he was about to ruin his life, he agreed to do whatever his lovely wife Peggy wanted for him to get his family back. Peggy’s one requirement was for Gerry to attend church with her. Gerry agreed, not realizing God would get a hold of his heart and change his life forever. That was over twenty years ago. Today he is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Romoland and also the founder and President of U-Turn For Christ. His unique shoot-from-the-hip style of teaching gets right to the heart of the matter, and the meat of the Word. His powerfully unique style of delivering God’s Word will both challenge and encourage you to new levels of maturity in your walk with Jesus, as we draw from God’s design for living, and discover new insights to God’s “Truth and Love in Action”.
