Pine Manor Inc - Chemical Dependency Services

I don't discredit the facility entirely, I just disagree with some views and the way some things are presented. Their employees see m to care for those being treated and many have overcome addictions as well. I do feel, however, that the patients in the faculty should be helped to feel in control of their lives. Less like powerless victims of their chosen substances, and more like wise beings in control of their bodies and their urges/addictions. I know it's not an easy thing to overcome by any means, but I also knowthat my father came out of the facility with a handful of excuses for the things he'd done, the reasons for his addictions, and its result it had on our family and other loved ones. He learned that it was not his fault that he turned to drugs and alcohol to begin with, that he kept going back to them orr that he just couldn't quit. He believed that the only reason he became who he was, was because of the childhood he had. The very things he described as leading to his addictions are the very same things he afflicted onto me, without the added events of a parent or relative abusing (sexually, mentally, and verbally) him. These factors were brought up in a family treatment session, where the counselor had him apologize to me, but explain that his actions were not his fault, but his addiction's fault. But I begged the counselor to answer that if the events of his childhood made him powerless to addiction, and I had the same events and more unfold, an addictive personality and access to the same drugs and alcohol my father was addicted to and had offered me, then how was I not as powerless to them when I was not only weak, but they had been forced upon me? I know it's a long ramble, but in short, the facility was very quick to help my father release him from his guilt and tell him "relapse is going to happen, and that's ok, because it isn't your fault. You're addiction controls you and there is little you can do about it but believe in god."

They charge thousands for basic care. Unnecessary. I completed my treatment, then attended outpatient therapy.

Options for drug rehab in Las Cruces, New Mexico include a variety of therapies to meet the needs of a diverse community. With an interesting combination of young families, retirees and recent immigrants, rehab facilities must understand the unique needs of Las Cruces residents.Tips on Enrolling Into Rehabilitation

Your addiction is unique to you. The issues with alcohol or drugs that fuel your addiction must be addressed in a qualified, research-based treatment program to yield the best results. Las Cruces has several top nonprofit and for-profit hospitals that specialize in psychiatric and behavioral health programs. To begin your search, identify what kind of treatment you need. Some areas to consider, according to the A.D.A.M Encyclopedia, include:

  • You may have an underlying condition. At least 50 percent of those who have addiction issues also have another mental health disorder, such as PTSD, depression or ADHD.
  • Genetics and environment play a large factor in addiction. In treatment, these issues will need to be addressed.
  • You may need intense treatment at first to manage the withdrawal process. This will require an inpatient stay at a qualified Las Cruces drug treatment center.
  • You may be treated with drug therapy, to counter risky behaviors and mental illness issues.
  • Treatment is ongoing for addiction. Relapse is common, so a long-term plan is essential.

The Elderly and Addiction Treatment

Las Cruces has a large retiree population. According to the National Center for Gerontological and Social Work Education, the number of elderly who need drug or alcohol rehab treatment will grow from 1.7 million in 2001 to 4.4 million in 2020. This swelling population needing treatment provides counselors with a tricky situation as many elderly individuals are reluctant to pursue counseling or rehab services. Tips for elderly patients seeking rehab include:

  • Look for compassionate, non-confrontational care. Be clear about the type of care you are seeking before committing to rehab services.
  • Older patients show a higher tendency to follow through on treatment program conditions and strategies, increasing their success in treatment.
  • Older adults may be more negatively affected by drug and alcohol use. You may need more intense medical treatment than your younger counterparts, especially during withdrawal.
  • Medicare does have some addiction assistance coverage. Make sure to check with your individual Medicare provider for details.
