Rae studied history at Alma College before attending Detroit College of Law for her Juris Doctor degree. She managed several nonprofit organizations prior to receiving her MA in counselor education and counseling psychology from Western Michigan University. As a licensed professional counselor, Rae also holds a SPADA certification, the Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse. She then spent five years at a women’s residential treatment center and was instrumental in collaborating with the clinical team to implement new services to meet the individual needs of each client. Rae’s extensive experience working with women in residential treatment centers inspired her to seek a new approach. In collaboration with her husband, David, Rae founded Sanford House to serve as a beacon for recovery and to inspire women with the belief that life in recovery can be richer, fuller, and more fulfilling.

Tammy Zystra has a Masters in Clinical Counseling and she is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Michigan. Tammy has 10 years of experience in multiple modalities of therapy with a diverse population. She has worked with families, children, and adolescence. Tammy has experience in crisis intervention, co-occurring disorders, substance abuse, addictions, post-traumatic stress, and behavioral intervention. Dr. Aharonov has practiced extensively in both hospital and outpatient facilities and has vast experience in all aspects of general, trauma, orthopedic, thoracic, vascular, obstetric, ocular, plastic, regional, and outpatient anesthesia. Dr. Aharonov has been involved in addiction medicine, particularly rapid detox under sedation, since 2007. She has investigated, perfected and created rapid detox protocols unique to Advanced Rapid Detox. She serves as an expert on the Substance Addiction forum on MedHelp.org and blogs extensively about her advice and experiences. Dr. Aharonov holds a: Cum Laude degree with Honors in Psychology from Drew University in Madison, NJ Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - SOM She completed her Anesthesia residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan She's Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology
