Discovery Point Retreat

My son came into this facility after having a seizure. He was withdrawing from benzos. I was worried about his health as you would imagine. They safely detoxed him before putting him in their treatment programs. I noticed a difference in my son just after a month.

Pine Manor Inc - Chemical Dependency Services

Ability to let individuals find their strengths from within, and have support via alumni after completion of treatment. It could have longer in-patient treatment. Otherwise it is a top notch place to find a new way to live!! The setting is peaceful, on a lake and deep in the woods. The food is great and the Staff are top notch!!

Founder The Raleigh House of Hope

Hi, I’m Eric Lapp, the Founder and CEO of the Raleigh House. Just this year, we’ve celebrated our 10th year of serving our community. One thing I’ve learned after working with over a thousand families is that substance abuse devastates families. It destroys lives but most importantly, people do recover and families get better. Long ago I discovered that addiction stems from years of LIFE and it is just a symptom of something more going on. We didn’t cause it but it is our job to figure out how to live a healthy life. The Raleigh House takes a multifaceted approach to treating addiction but first we have to understand the contributing factors of why and how it exists in the first place. At The Raleigh House we are careful to understand what is driving the substance use and the behaviors. We understand that addiction in some cases is a family disease, patterns and behaviors started at a young age that later manifested as problematic substance use and mood irregularities. In order to treat the desire to use, drink and act out unhealthy behaviors we have to grasp the entire picture. What was the childhood like, was there enough attention, was there enough love and nurture, what about support and discipline? Was there space to make choices, was there guidance if there was a better decision? Where did it come from and what prohibitin advancement in life. At The Raleigh House our job is to raise awareness and begin the transformational process, your job is to keep it!

Exploring Minneapolis Rehabilitation Facilities Addictions can form slowly over a matter of years, or they can come on quickly within just a few months. People who enter Minneapolis drug rehab programs all have different stories about when their addictions started, and the methods they used to attempt to handle the addictions on their own. In the end, these people decided that the problem was too large for them to handle without help. You might have come to the same conclusion. If so, this article will help to reinforce your decision, and provide you with tips you can use to find a Minneapolis drug treatment center that can provide help.Benefits of Going to a Treatment Clinic

You might believe that you can conquer an addiction through willpower alone. People who are addicted often think, "I can quit doing this anytime I want to. I'm strong enough to make it happen." Unfortunately, addictions don't resolve just because people make dramatic statements, because addictions often have their roots in chemical changes that take place deep within the brain.

A study published by a researcher at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis found that rats who were addicted to morphine had profound changes in the concentrations of specific chemicals in their brains, when compared to rats going through withdrawal from morphine. These changes might not be visible, but they might be felt.

In fact, due to chemical changes like this, you might feel deep and persistent cravings for drugs.

Minneapolis drug rehab programs can help you identify these chemical changes and learn to cope with them. Some people benefit from medications that mimic the actions of the drugs they once abused, but others might benefit from:

  • Meditation exercises
  • Yoga classes
  • Acupuncture
  • Support group meetings

The more you learn about what has happened during the course of the addiction, and the more tools you have to combat those changes, the more likely it is that you'll be able to handle a sober lifestyle. Addiction rehabilitation programs can give you this knowledge.

Whom Should I Tell?

While your addiction counselor will certainly give you advice on who will need to know about your treatment, you should be prepared to tell your friends who once took drugs or drank alcohol with you, just to keep them from tempting you to use once more.

Compare Recovery in Minneapolis

The program you choose to help with your recovery might not look anything like a program your friend would choose, even if your friend had the same addiction. Programs are often quite tailored, designed to provide help for a specific kind of addiction in a specific type of person.

Finding a tailored program like this might seem difficult, especially if you have no history of looking for addiction help, but there are many resources you can tap into. If you need help with a search, you can call us to talk to an addiction expert.
