Find Rehab for Your Loved One's Co-Occurring Problems

For many people struggling with addiction, having ongoing access to a drug makes it that much harder to stop using. This goes for illegal as well as legally prescribed prescription drugs. A co-occurring problem, such as periods of depression or anxiety episodes, can further aggravate a person's desire to use drugs.

As many people may not be aware that they have a mental health problem, it's important for your loved one to receive testing and treatment for any co-occurring conditions that may be feeding into their addiction.
Patterns of Addiction in Men and Women

  • Men have higher rates of drug and alcohol addiction than women.
  • For men, alcohol addiction rates are higher than the rates of drug addiction.
  • Alcohol addiction rates are three times higher for men than for women.
  • Men are three times more likely to develop a lifetime drug use disorder than women.
