Discovery Point Retreat

They Accomadated every need for My Son from Day he made his decision to seek help. He flew to Texas and was picked up at the airport by staff. I was allowed to see him the very next day, visitation were just about over but they let us have a visit anyways. Rooms are spacious and may not be a facility as someone stated but the House is Large, spacious, clean, and just has that home, secure, quiet, inviting feel. The are is perfect quiet and serene. Therapy and couseling on site my son loved everything about the way the had control of everything that was in his best interest. The staff, The Chef, The People i always knew how his progress was coming along and even included in therapy sessions. My son understand about addiction, the triggers, the control and the reason and maintains his sobriety, contact with others that were also in treatment with him, He considers all of them as family. Everyone there made him feel so comfortable, important and loved. At check out it took us all day for him to get everything together because he was truly going to miss Everything and Everyone, ( The Food) The outings, The Therapy, The couseling . The Owners, Management, The Staff I commend on The excellent job they are doing The are all Truly a Blessing. Strengths: Their knowledge in all areas of helping everyone. Knowing exactly what each persons individual needs are from The addiction ,the emotional, therapeutic, dietary. Weakness: Sober Living facility. I think my son was probably sent to the worst one. Was told he had to have a job within 2 weeks or going to be kicked out while another individual was there before him, still there and still unemployed. My son working 3rd shift going to sleep at 6 a.m. was woken up anyways for meditation at 7 even though he just worked at 12 hour shifts ( inconsiderate) people were eating his groceries. And managers of the house had dogs and dog hair everywhere and were offended that he mention about the dogs being all over furniture. Cardinal House of Dalls/Garland definitely Not recommended and was really in awe that Discovery Point Retreat would even be affiliated with a place like that. That would be the only negative on them with me.

An Overview on Oak Park Rehabilitation Clinics
Tucked away west of Chicago, the village of Oak Park is rich in theaters and historic homes. Amidst all the movies houses, pizza parlors, and other local offerings, Oak Park drug rehab facilities have helped local residents stay clean in mind and body. How to Pay for Rehabilitation

Popular consensus has always linked higher education to the cleanest styles of living. Not surprising to some, studies have shown a correlation between drug rates and education levels. Figures released by the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) reveal a decreased likelihood of chemical dependency with each progressive level of education.

In times of economic uncertainty, some people cope with stress through drugs and alcohol. Education once again plays a huge factor in such circumstances, because people with advanced degrees often fare better during economic downtimes.

At What Rates Does Addiction Correlate to Education?

In its 2010 findings, the NSDUH revealed that education and employment levels translated to drug use at the following rates:

    Addiction per education level
  • College graduates: 7.3 percent
  • High school graduates: 8.3 percent
  • High school dropouts: 10.2 percent
    Addiction per employment level
  • Full-time employed: 8.9 percent
  • Part-time employed: 10.9 percent
  • Unemployed: 15.7 percent
