Patel Ranjan PSY.D- MFT

Been doing telemedicine with her for a while, and due to finances, I wanted very short term therapy and though I tried to pin her down on how many sessions I'd need, she refused to give me that, which looking back, I understand. Lucky for me, I was in and out in eight visits, which my work covered partially. I was initially on the fence about seeing her because of her fee (she's more expensive than the other therapist I checked with), but I went with my gut because when I talked to her over the phone, she not only took her time and spent as long as I needed, for free, but she actively told me that she encouraged me to reach out to other therapists so I wouldn't haveI've to pay more than I'm comfortable with, she gave me some referrals. But I decided to see her and it's been worth it; she gives assignments and structure because I asked for it, and also talked to my psychiatrist, which helped me feel like I have a team.

Cocaine is the drug of choice throughout the state of Pennsylvania because of its wide distribution and availability. Many street gangs sell cocaine throughout central Pennsylvania, including in Scranton. Despite the rampant spread of drugs in this region, the Scranton area has several treatment centers to help you in your battle to become clean and sober.Questions to Answer Before Entering a Treatment Rehab

In order to succeed in a treatment center, you must be willing beyond the addiction and search for the underlying cause of the problem. When are most likely to use drugs and alcohol? How does the abuse affect your work and relationships? How severe is your problem? You must be willing to answer these questions honestly or your time in treatment won’t be as effective. Most rehab stays are between one and three months, giving you sufficient space to fully focus on your recovery.

Making Your Treatment Successful

Admitting that you need help is a huge step toward progress. Illegal drug use is on the rise throughout Pennsylvania, including in mid-sized cities like Scranton. Of the estimated 23.5 million people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol throughout the US, only 2.6 million receive the treatment they need. Here are some things you can do to make your treatment a success:

  • Choose the right program.
  • Define what success means to you.
  • Enlist the help of loved ones.
  • Continue with some level of therapy and counseling even after treatment is over.
