Discovery Point Retreat

This was the first rehab that I went to and I am glad to say that this will probably be my last. It was great that this facility had detox and all the other levels of care since many of my friends had to go to 2 separate places. It was really a comfortable and enjoyable place to be at.

The Costs of Rehabilitation
Rehab costs vary widely, depending on the type and duration of treatment. Some factors that influence the cost of addiction programs include:

  • Private or public treatment
  • Length of treatment
  • Inpatient or outpatient program
  • Additional services
  • Rehab prevention

Ancillary services may include medical appointments, job retraining, access to legal advice, and financial counseling. These services may add to your overall costs, and may also help to prevent relapse due to stress or undiagnosed issues. According to the study Lowering the Cost of Medicaid, insurance costs were lowered by an average of $6,480 per year for individuals who have completed drug rehab in 2007. Thus, completion of treatment can equal reductions to other medical expenses that may be impacting your treatment. The Effects of FASD

Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders affect a wide range of cognitive, physical, and mental health abilities in children. Avoiding alcohol during pregnancy is the only way to ensure that a fetus will not be affected.

Some difficulties youth with FASD have, according to the Department of Health and Human Services, are:

  • Personal boundary Issues
  • Poor judgment
  • Impulsivity
  • Memory problems
  • Lack of “if-then” cognition

People with FASD often repeat the same troubling acts which can lead to juvenile detention, and do not understand how to change their behavior or what is expected of them.
