Patel Ranjan PSY.D- MFT

Been doing telemedicine with her for a while, and due to finances, I wanted very short term therapy and though I tried to pin her down on how many sessions I'd need, she refused to give me that, which looking back, I understand. Lucky for me, I was in and out in eight visits, which my work covered partially. I was initially on the fence about seeing her because of her fee (she's more expensive than the other therapist I checked with), but I went with my gut because when I talked to her over the phone, she not only took her time and spent as long as I needed, for free, but she actively told me that she encouraged me to reach out to other therapists so I wouldn't haveI've to pay more than I'm comfortable with, she gave me some referrals. But I decided to see her and it's been worth it; she gives assignments and structure because I asked for it, and also talked to my psychiatrist, which helped me feel like I have a team.

Discovery Point Retreat

They Accomadated every need for My Son from Day he made his decision to seek help. He flew to Texas and was picked up at the airport by staff. I was allowed to see him the very next day, visitation were just about over but they let us have a visit anyways. Rooms are spacious and may not be a facility as someone stated but the House is Large, spacious, clean, and just has that home, secure, quiet, inviting feel. The are is perfect quiet and serene. Therapy and couseling on site my son loved everything about the way the had control of everything that was in his best interest. The staff, The Chef, The People i always knew how his progress was coming along and even included in therapy sessions. My son understand about addiction, the triggers, the control and the reason and maintains his sobriety, contact with others that were also in treatment with him, He considers all of them as family. Everyone there made him feel so comfortable, important and loved. At check out it took us all day for him to get everything together because he was truly going to miss Everything and Everyone, ( The Food) The outings, The Therapy, The couseling . The Owners, Management, The Staff I commend on The excellent job they are doing The are all Truly a Blessing. Strengths: Their knowledge in all areas of helping everyone. Knowing exactly what each persons individual needs are from The addiction ,the emotional, therapeutic, dietary. Weakness: Sober Living facility. I think my son was probably sent to the worst one. Was told he had to have a job within 2 weeks or going to be kicked out while another individual was there before him, still there and still unemployed. My son working 3rd shift going to sleep at 6 a.m. was woken up anyways for meditation at 7 even though he just worked at 12 hour shifts ( inconsiderate) people were eating his groceries. And managers of the house had dogs and dog hair everywhere and were offended that he mention about the dogs being all over furniture. Cardinal House of Dalls/Garland definitely Not recommended and was really in awe that Discovery Point Retreat would even be affiliated with a place like that. That would be the only negative on them with me.

Variations of Rehab Methods

Fatal overdoses are tragic at any age, regardless of whether the drugs in question are illicit or prescription substances. Small numbers of these deaths are ultimately deemed to be suicides, but the vast majority of deaths are accidental.

Some of the most frightening statistics involve deaths related to medicines, because the decedents in such cases merely tried to ease pain with prescribed remedies.

In figures released by the Georgia Drugs and Narcotics Agency, the number of medicine overdoses throughout the state rose from 496 to 560 between 2008 and 2010. Alarmingly, the highest percentage of these fatalities (226) occurred within the 45-to-54 age group.

Which Types of Drugs Cause the Most Deaths?

According to 2012 figures gathered by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, opioid pain relievers have dwarfed illicit drugs in the overdose death toll.

The following is an age breakdown between illicit and prescription drug fatalities per 100,000 Americans:
Illicit Drugs
  • 15-to-25 age range: 2.2
  • 25-to-34 age range: 4.4
  • 35-to-44 age range: 5.3
  • 45-to-54 age range: 6

    Prescription Drugs

  • 15-to-25: 3.7
  • 25-to-34: 7.1
  • 35-to-44: 8.3
  • 45-to-54: 10.4
