Letty Owings Center

I think the treatment is pretty effective. The program is for women and children, reuniting moms with their children who are in foster care or unborn. A lot of parenting skills are emphasized and a lot of families are reunited. We allow mothers to have their children in treatment with them. This is especially important for pregnant women with a history of using. Their baby would be removed at birth in most cases. By coming into treatment prior to giving birth, most of our babies are born drug free. The mother can return to the facility with her child and the support of our staff. We have an onsite pediatric nurse and a licensed nursery. We encourage breast feeding and bonding. Most of these women do not have a clue about being a mother and are eager to learn. Due to budget constraints we are unable to offer many "extra" curricular activities for the women. We do have yoga and acupuncture but there are so many cultural events that happen in our city that it would be awesome to expose these women to but this is beyond our budget.

Selecting Warren Rehab Centers Although Ohio's drug use rate is the same as the national rate, it exceeds the national rate in other areas. Ohio has a drug-related death rate 2 percent above the national average and is ranked among the top 10 states for prescription drug abuse and illegal drug use among the population in the 18-to-25 age range. The state does, however, have an automated prescription reporting system to help identify prescription drug abuse and ensure that patients are taking their medications as prescribed.Clues a Family Member Needs Rehab

Has a family member recently lost a friend or loved one? Maybe they lost their job or recently ended a relationship? Sometimes people turn to drug or alcohol use to fill a void in their life. They use substances to deal with their loss instead of finding activities or hobbies to fulfill them. Their life changes drastically and they are at a loss as to how to cope. If you notice alcoholism or drug use in your family member, help them find a rehab program in Warren to deal with their addiction.

Why Drugs and Driving Don't Mix

Engaging in drug use before driving can be deadly. Driving while under the influence of marijuana has been shown to cause car accidents. Here are some ways that drug use affects driving:

  • Impaired judgment
  • Slowed reaction times
  • Reduced perception of time and speed
  • Increased inattentiveness
