Rose Rock Recovery Center

Strengths: Focus on source of problems and not the negative coping mechanisms we were abusing. Specifically focused on woman's issues. Weaknesses: No sugar or pop.It is a long term 3-6 month program where you and your fellow clients will work together to help and keep each other accountable. The facilitators and counselors are genuine honest woman who are in recovery themselves and truly care about helping.

An Examination of Waterloo Rehab Centers
Waterloo, Iowa is a town with a smaller feel and large agricultural and industrial bases. The population is around 68,000, and there is a strong family influence as 40 percent of the households contain a married couple living together, and many of them have children.

With such a significant number of families in the Waterloo community, the influence of alcohol abuse on important, intimate relationships is undeniably high.

Questions to Answer Before Enrolling in a Treatment Program

According to the National Institute on Alcoholism and Alcohol, one in every four children experiences alcohol abuse in their family, and there is a strong correlation between alcohol use and marital conflict. Family-centric programs that treat alcoholism are offered in the Waterloo area and can restore a positive family dynamic, while helping the drinker overcome physical dependency. While treatment is never easy, you need to ask yourself if you’re willing to continue sacrificing your family for your drinking.

The Family Consequences of Alcohol Abuse

The influence of alcohol increases the likelihood that the following will occur in a marriage or family:

  • Infidelity
  • Violence
  • Economic Insecurity
  • Divorce
  • Fetal alcohol issues in pregnancy
