Beachway Therapy Center Philosophy
Beachway Therapy Center, as a dual diagnosis facility, believes that in order to treat addiction successfully each person must address their own deeper emotional issues. By providing a comfortable and serene space our highly trained therapists and medical staff are fully equipped to design a treatment plan based on each client’s individual needs. We believe in meeting the addict where they are, recognizing their unique circumstances and providing the support and therapy necessary to lay the groundwork for a lasting, sustainable recovery. Each client, upon arrival, will be assigned a primary therapist who will work carefully to customize a treatment plan that will serve as the foundation of their recovery. Through counseling, group therapy, and individual therapy sessions, each client will learn the basic tools to regain control of their lives. We treat each and every client with respect and compassion so that they can learn to heal and grow.
Areas of Specialization
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a highly specific, research-validated form of therapy that can help people overcome traumatic stress, anxiety and depression. With EMDR, a trained practitioner uses bilateral stimulation, eye movement and touch to stimulate parts of the brain as a patient recounts certain experiences and memories as a way to more thoroughly process uncomfortable, painful feelings.
Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment
These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. After successful treatment with EMDR therapy, affective distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated, and physiological arousal is reduced.
Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a therapy designed to help people suffering from mood disorders as well as those who need to change patterns of behavior that are not helpful, such as self-harm, suicidal ideation, and substance abuse.
Before I went to Beachway I had lost my job, the respect of my friends and family. Now I am working again and taking 2 classes at night. I have some amazing new friends in my life and my family is back in my life. I have been home for 3 months now and my life just keeps getting better. Everyday isn’t easy but I do it one day at a time. I still call Matthew from time to time to get advice. He is always there for me and takes the time to talk to me. All I can say is thank you. Beachway and everyone who works there is awesome.
Everyone was so caring and kind. I was really scared before I went there but now I'm living my new life and I'm so grateful to Beachway for everything I learned.
Beachway Therapy Center is a nice facility. The techs and therapists are awesome. My therapist, Bryan, is one of the coolest guys I've ever met therapist-wise. He made me feel really comfortable so that I told him everything that I wasn't comfortable saying. This is my third time there but the other times I wasn't ready or willing and open-minded. They informed me about my addiction and gave me all the tools that I need for my post-treatment. It was very helpful.
Beachway saved my life. It was a beautiful, wonderful and amazing experience. I was bottomed out and they brought my life back to me. I went through calling treatment centers and trying to get some help for my cocaine addiction and they reached out. The owner, Miss Pam, and the therapists, little Brian and big Brian, all of them, were loving, caring, great and wonderful people. When I first got there, I wanted to leave but my therapist talked to me. I made a 360-degree turnaround along with the staff and it was the best move. They really care about my recovery. I'm now doing great and wonderful.

ABOUT BEACHWAY THERAPY CENTER
Located in Boynton Beach, Fla., Beachway Therapy Center provides residential and outpatient treatment for adults struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health conditions. The rehab’s multi-phase program takes most clients from detox to aftercare in 30 days, though individuals with more serious diagnoses or vocational training needs may stay on-site for up to 90 days. Additionally, Christian and women-only treatment tracks are also available.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Based on the findings of a physical and mental health evaluation, clients may begin their stay in medically managed detox. Once stabilized, clients enter inpatient or outpatient treatment. Inpatient treatment affords participants 24-hour support and more access to individual and group therapy sessions, but both treatment options utilize 12-step principles and incorporate family therapy, as well as alternative modalities like art, equine, and psychodrama therapy.
Beachway emphasizes aftercare as a crucial recovery element, offering two stages of customized support. The center also provides transportation to and from therapy sessions. Sober living accommodations are available to individuals who have completed their treatment but wish to reside in a structured, supportive environment as they acclimate to sober living.
Beachway’s treatment team is led by a medical director and includes licensed clinical social workers, master’s level therapists, and certified addiction counselors. On average, counselors maintain a 1:6 staff-to-client ratio.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Beachway’s tropical location provides a lush environment for recovery and walkable access to the beach. Both private and semi-private rooms are available in the airy, modern residence, and clients are encouraged to cook and socialize together in the homelike common areas. Popular recreational activities include yoga, fishing, and bowling. Between the residence and the sober living facility, up to 54 individuals can be accommodated at a time.
