Areas of Specialization
This term describes one-on-one therapy, in which a patient and trained counselor, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist meets privately with a patient to discuss challenges related to lifestyle, work, family and romantic relationships that may have contributed to the development of an addiction.
Facilities that offer “holistic therapy” see and treat patients in the context of their entire lives and health status. They treat the “whole person,” not just the addiction.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Services at Olalla Recovery Centers may begin with a Johnson model intervention involving family and friends. Family involvement is prioritized at ORC through a dedicated four-week program.
This facility prides itself on individualized treatment plans. Residential programming serves both clients who are participating in treatment for the first time and those continuing in rehabilitation, through Olalla’s relapse prevention program. In addition to evidence-based group therapy and educational lectures, clients can expect to participate in an array of activities addressing physical and spiritual recovery. Opportunities include 12-step meetings, yoga, meditation, Reiki, and acupuncture, a service available at just 5.6 percent of Washington facilities.
Native American addiction recovery programming involves education and participation in the Medicine Wheel, smudging ceremonies, and a monthly Spiritual Circle, led by Native American elders.
Both individual and group counseling are available through ORC’s outpatient programming. The facility’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers beginning and relapse prevention support. Adolescent treatment follows an intensive 24-week Matrix Model, which involves education, 12-step principles, and drug-testing.
The treatment team at Olalla Recovery Centers includes master’s-level chemical dependency professionals (CDP), a Reiki master, and staff members with varied backgrounds in personal recovery, the military, the Peace Corps, crisis management, and vocational services. ORC is among the 29 percent of facilities nationwide accredited by CARF.
