PRIDE Institute Philosophy

At PRIDE Institute, gay is understood; being LGBT is the norm not the exception. Our highly trained and skilled staff understands your issues and will help you live a happy, healthy life as a proud LGBT person. We can offer you hope to overcome your addiction and live the life you want.

Areas of Specialization

  • Residential Treatment
Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.

  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Patients who undergo intensive outpatient treatment continue to live at home and sometimes go to school or work while participating in a highly structured treatment protocol that is focused on ending substance abuse. Programs vary in terms of how much treatment patients receive, how often and for how long. Some facilities design individualized intensive outpatient treatment programs.

PRIDE Institute also offers unique treatments and therapy including expressive arts therapies, a body image support group, and a transgender support group. Families are included in the treatment program through specialized family programming and family therapy.

They were more concerned about keeping beds full then my individual treatment. Staff was unorganized, understaffed and left the clients to fend for themselves. Staff turnover seems high.

It was a very good program, and it seems to work for a lot of people. Personally I need a more holistic approach to healing versus the 12-step.
