Solutions Recovery Center Philosophy

Solutions Recovery Center recognizes alcoholism and drug addiction as a primary disease. The disease affects brain-functioning and physiology, mental health, social, and behavioral functioning and the totality of personal characteristics. The illness if left untreated is a chronic, progressive, and fatal illness. The illness is pervasive and affects not only the individual, but has an impact on all who interact with them. We believe each individual has the right to be treated with respect and dignity as they are valued by society. We believe each individual has the right to treatment, the most appropriate level of treatment, regardless of creed, gender, race, sexual orientation, age, or origin and they have the inherent potential for change and growth.

Areas of Specialization

  • Individual Therapy
This term describes one-on-one therapy, in which a patient and trained counselor, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist meets privately with a patient to discuss challenges related to lifestyle, work, family and romantic relationships that may have contributed to the development of an addiction.

  • Aftercare Support
Addiction recovery does not end with discharge after completing a rehab program. Facilities that offer aftercare planning and/or support work with patients to ensure sustainable recovery by helping to plan and make arrangements for transitional or sober living, help with housing, vocational counseling, etc.

Solutions Recovery Center, located in sunny Delray Beach, Fla., offers luxury residential and outpatient treatment for men struggling with substance abuse. Co-occurring mental health disorders are addressed as well. Detoxification services are not offered on-site, though the facility will refer clients in need of detox to an appropriate location.

The facility was founded by an individual who is a recovering alcoholic and now has over 29 years of sobriety; the founder has since become a licensed therapist who has credentials in addiction treatment.

The residential program offers three lengths of stay: 30, 60, or 90 days. The facility uses what they call a “triangle approach” to recovery - each client works with a primary therapist, a primary counselor, and addictions facilitators.

According to the facility’s website, Solutions focuses on individualized treatment and support. Clients participate in four individual counseling sessions per week, along with 12-step meetings, daily group support meetings and group therapy sessions. Family therapy is also available. A non-denominational, faith-based recovery track, guided by the facility’s chaplain in cooperation with a Buddhist monk, is also available.

A two-phase outpatient program is offered as a step-down from residential treatment.

Finally, the facility offers a Break Free Plan, which is their comprehensive, in-depth aftercare planning program. This is an opt-in service for alumni where a case manager goes with the client back home to provide support to the family, find an aftercare mentor, and make referrals to an aftercare therapist in the community.

The clinical director is a licensed psychologist and oversees a staff of master’s-level therapists and certified addiction counselors. The facility reports a staff-to-client ratio of 1:1.

The 3,000 to 5,000 square-foot residential facilities are high-end and homelike, designed with upscale furnishings and comfortable common living areas. There are 24 beds total, some of which are private rooms. The recovery center has a meditation garden, swimming pool, and soothing group rooms.

Clients enjoy a range of recreational and leisure outings which include beach trips, golf, fishing, snorkeling, park outings, cookouts, museum and gallery tours, and attendance at local community events. Use of personal cell phones and computers is allowed in the facility once a client has been deemed “stable.”

At the time of this writing there have been five alumni polled by The alumni all gave generally positive feedback regarding the facility. Four alumni gave the facility five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, three alumni gave three stars for accommodations & amenities and meals & nutrition while a fourth gave four stars for these metrics.

One anonymous alum offered more detailed feedback through a poll from This alum strongly agreed that the facility was clean and well maintained; that the facility was adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems in addition to substance use disorders; and that the facility staff were experienced and well-trained.

This individual felt that a strength of the facility was, “Great staff , and great program choices for your own recovery. A good mix of activities.” Regarding weaknesses of the facility, the alum wrote, “As a new company at the time they had issues with communication at times. However, I believe that the program works anyway.” The respondent also added, “after 14 years clean I found myself sick again… If it wasn't for the staff and whole package of treatment options offered it would have been different.”

At the time of this writing, there was one former staff member, A.G., who was polled by This reviewer gave the facility neutral reviews across several different metrics. This employee was an addiction tech/aid at the facility.

On a scale of one to five stars, A.G. gave the facility four out of five stars when asked about the executive management/leadership of the facility’s willingness to put patients’ interests first, the overall quality of patient treatment and care, and the enforcement of patient privacy and confidentiality. He gave two stars for the executive management/leadership’s ability to inspire loyalty/sense of community among staff and one star for the overall executive management/leadership.

A.G. indicated that a strength of the facility is that clients are screened for appropriate activities to participate in. When asked about weaknesses, he wrote “Management inexperienced, Hire innovators with 6 months sobriety.” Overall, the staff member indicated that he would not recommend this facility to a friend or loved one who was considering rehab or would you consider this facility for himself if he ever needed treatment. He added additional comments writing, “Worked there for 13 months, Started hiring inexperienced people Councilars are not certified.”

The cost of treatment at the facility is not published. The facility accepts insurance including Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, United Health One, Aetna, Humana, Careplus, Cigna, Freedom Health, and United American Insurance Company.

The facility seems to be very irresponsible with their funding. Costs around $1000 a day if you do not use insurance. The price with insurance is higher which is a bit suspicious. They only have 2 certified therapists on site; no psychiatrist. They bring in an outside psychiatrist. The treatment consists mostly of people in recovery coming in to talk. This can be obtained for free at AA or NA. I'm assuming most of the current reviews come from staff. They use expensive UA's on half the group every other day which is also suspicious. Very unprofessional please beware.

Great amenities, wonderful trips to enjoy the FL area.

Amazing Facility. The best in the nation. Staff is excellent, they cared more about me than I did about my self. Couldn't imagine a better place to get clean and sober.

This facility saved my life. I have my family back in my life. I am just over 2 years clean/sober. I am grateful to the very knowledgeable and compassionate staff for their dedication. If you are looking for a great facility to re-start your life, and educate you - this one is perfect. The most important advice I can give is to stick to the treatment plan after you leave the facility, and take suggestions from those in long term recovery. I had to learn the hard way, until I found this facility. I always thought I could do it on my own or my way - this only lead to more failure and heartache for my family. Great place - very supportive even after I finished the program.

Worked there for 13 months, Started hiring inexperienced people .

Great staff , and great program choices for your own recovery. A good mix of activities. As a new company at the time they had issues with communication at times. However, I believe that the program works anyway. Well after 14 years clean I found myself sick again. Couldn't have found a better place to get help for my ills. If it wasn't for the staff and whole package of treatment options offered it would have been different. Excellent service provider
