Patel Ranjan PSY.D- MFT

Been doing telemedicine with her for a while, and due to finances, I wanted very short term therapy and though I tried to pin her down on how many sessions I'd need, she refused to give me that, which looking back, I understand. Lucky for me, I was in and out in eight visits, which my work covered partially. I was initially on the fence about seeing her because of her fee (she's more expensive than the other therapist I checked with), but I went with my gut because when I talked to her over the phone, she not only took her time and spent as long as I needed, for free, but she actively told me that she encouraged me to reach out to other therapists so I wouldn't haveI've to pay more than I'm comfortable with, she gave me some referrals. But I decided to see her and it's been worth it; she gives assignments and structure because I asked for it, and also talked to my psychiatrist, which helped me feel like I have a team.

Select New Orleans Rehab Programs
New Orleans drug treatment programs have been helping people to overcome their addiction issues for decades. Often, these programs do their work in relative obscurity, preferring to protect their clients instead of spreading the word about their programs. This is understandable, as privacy is often quite important to people enrolled in rehab, but it might leave you wondering where to turn if you need drug rehab in New Orleans.Benefits of Going to a Rehabilitation Clinic

Addictions don’t just impact you. In fact, your addiction could have an impact on the health and well-being of your entire family. Consider this: According to a study that was conducted, in part, in New Orleans, about 2.3 percent of women used cocaine, and about 11 percent used marijuana, during pregnancy. Babies born to mothers who use drugs might have developmental delays, which could lead them to act out at school and at home. The drug use here could, truly, impact the entire family.

In an addiction treatment program, you’ll pick up the skills you’ll need in order to stay sober, and your family will have the opportunity to go through treatment with you, so you can all learn to process the anger and disappointment the addiction may have caused. Through therapy, you’ll all have a chance to heal.

Additional Therapies Provided

Addiction treatment programs often provide treatments aimed to help you feel calm, relaxed and able to handle stress. These are typical treatments that could provide these benefits:

  • Massage
  • Yoga
  • Art therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Tai chi

While not all programs provide these services, those that do might help you explore a new hobby, and learn how to keep your emotions in check in natural, chemical-free ways.
